Authentic Wealth is bigger than just financial accumulation – it recognizes the interconnectedness of all aspects of life. It is created when your resources (the 5 levers – Finances, Mindset, Relationships, Health and Time) are aligned with your values, your vision and are ultimately used to achieve the impact you want to have on yourself, your family, your community and the world.

RELATIONSHIPS
The Abaris Five Lever Book Club just finished Strength to Strength: Finding Success, Happiness, and Deep Purpose in the Second Half of Life by Arthur Brooks.
The author has a practice around deepening relationships that resonated with me. He writes… “I regularly write out a list of the people with whom I need a stronger relationship. Then I list next to each of them what they need from me that only I can provide.” He then consciously schedules opportunities to nurture those things. I thought that was such a useful framework to make relationship building intentional.

HEALTH
Most of us are on our phones (or other similar devices) too much. And it’s no wonder! Tech companies have spent millions of research dollars to figure out how to increase our addiction to our devices. Here is an easy “hack” to reduce your screen time: change your display to grayscale. I first heard about this idea at a Carson conference and I tried it – it works! And it’s not just me, it is proven to reduce screen time.
Here’s a WSJ article about the study: link here

TIME
There was another interesting nugget in our Book Club pick, Strength to Strength – the concept of a “reverse bucket list”. Arthur Brooks, the author, believes that a key to happiness is a lack of attachment. So on his birthday he makes a list of the things he is attached to and then creates a plan to become more detached.
Check out his Ted Talk (15 minutes total – he discusses the reverse bucket list around 11:46): link here.
